PixelArt

Recently we learned to use the drawing tools in Paint to create images out of pixels. We then extended them into tower blocks, using cut, copy, paste, transparent selection and flip tools.

Here are some of our buildings combined to make a city:

Evaluating websites for learning

Hi girls,
I have a whole bunch of websites, and I need you guys to try them out for me, so I know what ones to recommend to other teachers. Miss Winterton will hand the pages out. Can you please choose a site or two to have a go at, and give me some feedback by posting comments on the blog? For each website I need to know:

  • The name of the website
  • The web address of the website
  • Whether or not it works
  • Whether it's fun or not
  • Whether it teaches you anything, and if so, what it teaches you
It will be easier for me if you answer in full sentences, don't just say
"yes, no, about history"
as your answer - I'd rather you wrote
"This website is fun because it is kind of like a game. It teaches you about the history of World War Two".

I may not be able to accept your comments so they go live on the blog till the weekend, sorry!

Miss Ronald

Spreadsheets

Today we started learning to use spreadsheets.

Spreadsheets are useful for managing large amounts of data. They save you from having to do calculations and make graphs by hand, and if you want to update one of the numbers you don't have to go right back and start again.

The picture shows a list of what we learned to do today.
